A different kind of reset.

Military service demands constant readiness. Long hours, operational tempo, leadership responsibilities, deployments, training cycles, and the pressures of military life can make it difficult to ever truly switch off.

Still Breathing Equine provides Active Duty Service Members with a place to temporarily step away from those demands.

There are no ranks in the pasture.

Through ground-based interaction with our horses, participants are encouraged to slow down, become present, and experience connection without the expectations that often accompany the uniform.

Quick facts

🐴 GROUND-BASED interaction takes place on the ground. No previous horse experience is necessary.

 Active Duty battalion sessions are currently offered every other week.

S programs are provided at no cost to participating Service Members.

🤝 CONNECTION WITHOUT RANK
 Once you enter the pasture, the focus isn’t rank or billet—it’s the person standing beside the horse.

What to expect

1. Welcome & Check-In


Meet the SBE team and get comfortable with the environment.

2. Waiver & Safety Briefing


Participants complete required paperwork and receive a safety briefing before interacting with the herd.

3. Meet the Horses


Learn how horses communicate and experience how remarkably aware they are of the people and environment around them.

4. Ground-Based Interaction


Activities may include grooming, leading, walking alongside a horse, or simply spending quiet time together. Horse participation is always guided by each horse’s individual wellness needs.

5. Connection & Closing


Sessions provide space for connection and reflection, but sharing is never required. This is not about forcing a conversation. It’s about creating an environment where connection can happen naturally.
