When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by members of the Still Breathing Equine team and introduced to the day’s session.
Before entering the pasture, we’ll review a brief safety orientation, answer any questions you may have, and complete any required participation paperwork, including a liability waiver for first-time participants.
Meet the Herd

You’ll have the opportunity to meet our horses and learn a little about their unique personalities and stories. There is no rush—we move at the pace of both the participant and the horse.
Time Spent with the Horses

Participants may groom a horse, lead one through the pasture, or simply spend quiet time nearby. These simple interactions often help people slow down, regulate their breathing, and become more present in the moment.
Some sessions are filled with conversation.
Others are filled with comfortable silence.
There is no right or wrong way to participate.

Whether someone arrives carrying stress from work, military service, or everyday life, our hope is that every participant leaves feeling calmer, more connected, and reminded that they do not have to carry life’s burdens alone.

Our Commitment to Safety
The safety of our participants, volunteers, and horses is our highest priority. Every session is led by trained team members and follows established safety procedures designed to create a positive experience for everyone involved.
Participants receive a safety briefing before each session. To support the well-being of both participants and horses, members of our herd are selected for each session based on their temperament, individual needs, and readiness to participate.
