VOLUNTEER WITH SBE

Be Part of Something That Matters

Still Breathing Equine is powered by people who believe in service, connection, and showing up for others.

Our volunteers help create the safe, welcoming environment that allows Active Duty Service Members, Veterans, and First Responders to step away from the demands of everyday life and spend meaningful time with our horses.

You do not need to be a veteran, first responder, or experienced horse person to make a difference here.

You just need a willingness to serve, learn, and be part of the mission.

WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

SESSION SUPPORT

Assist our team during scheduled equine sessions by helping prepare the space, supporting safe horse interactions, and helping participants feel welcome.

HORSE & FARM SUPPORT

Help with grooming, pasture and grounds maintenance, cleaning, organization, and the everyday work that keeps our herd and facility ready.

EVENTS & COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Represent SBE at community events, fundraisers, outreach opportunities, and special projects that help us grow awareness and support for the mission.

WHAT TO EXPECT

SBE volunteers receive guidance and orientation appropriate to their role. Because our work involves both horses and the people we serve, safety, professionalism, confidentiality, and respect are expected at all times.

Volunteers working around the horses should be comfortable following the direction of SBE session leadership and established safety procedures. Closed-toe shoes, preferably boots, are required when working around the herd.

Horse experience is helpful, but it is not required for every volunteer opportunity. We have meaningful ways to contribute both in and outside of the pasture.
